Thanksgiving 2007

Some photos from Thanksgiving and the long weekend. We had dinner with Kim's sister's family. Jim and Ellie were there along with Kim's parents, Kim's sister's in-laws, siblings on both sides, and all the kids.

At one point, Henry went into the kitchen and from the fridge covered in dozens and dozens of photos and magnets, pulled a wallet photo off the collage on the side of the fridge and proclaimed it to be Sam. It was Henry's hospital baby photo!

The family dog Chase is begging Joni for a morsel in the first pic.

Sam and Ellie - I recall those warnings about food safety: Always make sure your cook your turkey well or you could get Sam & Ellie poisoning.

Some photos from the weekend. We started repainting the living room, entry, stairway, and upstairs hall. One wall had already been painted red in this series. We primed with gray-tint and blue-tint primers.

Day 1:

Day 2:

I had yesterday (Thursday Nov 29th) off, using up a couple of vacation days before the end of the year. I painted the the front window in the living room with a brighter trim paint. Also painted the molding around the sliding door.

All of the wood trim including the ceiling molding, baseboard, and mantel will be painted white. Our goal is to have everything finished before Christmas eve.

Sam's first sclerotherapy procedure is scheduled for January 2nd, (it had been the 10th but the surgeon's office changed the schedule). Henry has been running a fever on and off for a couple days. He was fever free yesterday, but he still seems a bit punk at times and grouchy at other times.

November Pictures

Some photos from the current month. First up is JD and his cousin Henry reading on the couch in the kitchen, November 3rd 2007.

Next up we have Sam in the Captivity Center. At under 3 months old (November 4th) he can already touch the ground with his feet. I remember putting a telephone book under Henry's feet so he would be supported.

I also took a video of Sam spinning the musical wheel on the CC. He rocks!

Now some pictures of the expanding Thomas the Tank Engine set, circa November 11th. Thanks to Ben and Julia for getting us started last year with Henry's eponymous engine.

Going walking (without Nanni) November 15th:

Our Kitchen Aide (November 18th):

We went to the annual train show at the Shriner's again this year, also on the 18th. I had to have more track to expand the T-the-T-E empire. We also have some roadway now:

The old post from the train show is available here in the blog archive. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

More photos should be coming for Thanksgiving.

Halloween 2007

Trick or treat day in Reading! We had 3 out of 4 family members dressed for the occasion. No one believed it when I said I was costumed as a computer geek.

Henry trick or treated about a dozen houses. We tried to keep up with the kids from our neighboring houses but they were too excited and moved too fast for us.

Henry had glow sticks taped to his fire chief's helmet, his jack-o-lantern tote, and the back of his jacket. Some extra safety features courtesy of Bubbie.

Sam is in a Winnie the Pooh Huny pot outfit. It is sized for a 12 to 24 month old.

I would guess we had just shy of 20 kids come to the house. They got the special treat of having a witch dole out their treats!
