Following Laurie and Dave's lead, we signed up for Skype to do Internet chat and phone calls. It also supports video phone calls and is MUCH easier to use than Yahoo Messenger, Net Meeting, or Windows Messenger. And it is free, of course!
Our Skype name is "HenrySam". I have been trying to set up the laptop on occasional week nights and weekends, leaving it logged in while we are around.
The video quality is very good. Brian captured some images from our call on Saturday morning.
Right now it is up in Henry's room, with the camera pointed at the jumble of train track on the floor.
