Kitchening - Part II

These are photos from the 2nd day of work (last Wednesday) on the new kitchen.

On this day the blue work boxes appear in the walls where the electric outlets and switches will be. Most of the recessed light fixtures are installed. The rough plumbing for the sink and dishwasher are in place.

Out with the old window, in with the new.

The new window

New window, sink plumbing, vent fan gone - radiator still in place in the foreground

Recessed ceiling light

Back and right walls of kitchen

New box in old wall of dinning room. The gate sentry is guarding the opening to the front entry.

"Daddy, wanna come in!!"

The little helper next to 110 VAC, 15 A.
Maybe its live, maybe its not. Feeling lucky little man?

A view into the future - the radiator will disappear the next day

Anderson Double Casement - Accept no substitutes

This is what you see when you look directly into a recessed light can

The Garage - wall board, boxed cabinets, insulation, a beach chair, trash cans, and helmets: Prepared for any occasion

Replacement shingles on the back of the house. The small set is where the fan vent was. You can see how the new window was moved over to the right - This puts it closer to the middle of the wall, centers it over the sink, and leaves room for the dishwasher to the right of the sink (for us right-handers).
The small round dot below the window is where the outside hose faucet was - it is being moved under the window.

You can see some of the original kitchen in this old posting.

Stay tuned for Kitchening - Part III: Walls of Wonder (and ceilings too!)
