Kitchening - Part XII

These are photos from the 13th day of work (Friday 6/15) on the new kitchen.

Tile, lighting effects, re-paint, and a good look at my shoe are the big features for this day.

We are waiting on the granite people to do the counters and island. Then we can have a sink. I REALLY miss having a sink.

New tile in the entryway. Soon to be home to salt, snow, sand, and mud. Note the tile spacers that Henry likes to pluck out. The grout goes in on the next work day.

Dining room wall repainted after patching the chair rail area.

The other side of the dining room and a nice shot of the flooring.

Still no pendant lights above the island...

The art wall.

STILL no pendant lights.

Another cool cabinet. The lower shelf pulls out for easy access to pots and pans. This one is in the island, next to the range.

Playing with the mood lighting on the art wall.

Contrast of shoe and flooring.

Again, but without the flash, highlighted only by the art spot light.

You can see some of the original kitchen in this old posting.

Stay tuned for Kitchening - Part XIII: Pendant Fever

Working on the sale of the Ashland house. We went into re-negotiations after the buyers completed the home inspection and mold survey. We reached what I hope will be the final agreement last night. I have lined up our attorney and we are now anticipating the first draft of the P&S.

Sarah's birthday is tomorrow. I think she will be 12. If she will be 13 then I'm in trouble! The party is Sunday.

We hope to spend most of Saturday on domestic stuff. Laundry, cleaning, yard work, trip to the park...
