These are photos from the 3rd day of work (last Thursday) on the new kitchen. On this day, all of the electrical rough-in is completed; the rough-in for the upstairs master bath is done; all of the exterior cuts are shingled; the exterior wall is insulated; and of course all of the blue/green/gray plasterboard is installed on the the walls and ceiling.

The back wall with the new window. You can see the openings in the ceiling for the recessed lights. There will also be 2 pendant lights over Cook Island - the mounting holes are near the front of the photo.

The back and right walls. The new PVC pipe in the ceiling is the rough plumbing for a future 3/4 bath in the master bedroom. It will be our oasis from the boys' bath.

The mud room. The yellow wire is the 20A line that will be connected to a power strip in the pantry cabinets. We plan to use one side of the double pantry for small appliances.

The dining room is mostly intact except for the new ceiling. Cook island will be smack in the middle of this photo.
The wall on the left will display a new creation on canvas that Henry made on Sunday called "Beautiful Flowers". We put in a directional spot can light centered above this wall to highlight our most treasured art. I think my barf bag collection will be on display in November.

All of the holes are filled. Hope they remember to put the outside faucet back...
Stay tuned for Kitchening - Part IV: Does plaster really come from Paris?
Tomorrow (Wednesday June 6, 2007) the range arrives. We bought the dish washer and fridge last weekend. They will be delivered on Friday.
We also bought tile, grout, a new toilet, a new pedestal sink, and faucet for the upstairs bathroom. The refit is in process (done by the unlicensed contractor - me) and photos will appear soon.
