These are photos from the 4th day of work (last Saturday) on the new kitchen. We were surprised when we got the call that the plaster crew was coming Saturday morning. We got out of their way shortly after they got started and did not come back until they had finished and left.
In case it has been awhile since you have been around curing plaster, I will remind you that it stinks. And it rained the next 2 days so we had the windows closed - blah.
But what a difference the finish makes on the walls and ceilings!

The back wall with the new window. The waste pipe for the future master bath is in the upper right corner.

The back and left wall. There will be a corner cabinet, microwave shelf, wine cubbie, and the double pantry along the left wall back in the kitchen area.

Another view of the back right corner with the plumbing access. The new waste pipe will be hidden in a cabinet over the fridge.

The overlap of the old and new wall sections in the dining room. The new plaster is dark as it dries. Note the swirls in the textured ceiling that complement the ceiling finish in the other rooms.

The other side of the dining room and the mud room - blending old and new.
Stay tuned for Kitchening - Part V: Praline, Toffee, or Pecan?
The range arrived today. The fridge and dishwasher are scheduled for Friday.
The tile and toilet have been installed in the upstairs bathroom and I have the faucet and new pedestal sink ready to bolt in tonight.
